An organization like the Indian Creek Fire Department isn't just a group of people fighting fires. As much as anything else, we are a family encompassing many other families. Many years of getting up in the middle of the night will put a strain on anyone. It can be a challenge for the wives and husbands and children of firefighters as well. Our fire department really consists of families dedicated to the protection of Indian Creek Township. Some of those families have joined together to create the Indian Creek Fire Department Auxiliary.

The Indian Creek Fire Department Auxiliary performs several valuable functions, both in direct support of the fire department and in support of the community itself.

The auxiliary performs a number of fundraisers throughout the year such as Sunday breakfasts and Saturday evening dinners. We also raise funds by selling hamburgers and hotdogs at Walmart a few times a year. Proceeds from events like these go to hosting community events and purchasing supplies for the fire department. Recently, we have begun raising funds to upgrade and remodel the fire station's dilapidated kitchen and bathrooms. In recent years, the auxiliary has jumped in to make sure various popular community events, such as the Easter egg hunt and visits with Santa, are continued for the township's children.

Finally, but certainly not least as far as the firefighters are concerned, the auxiliary provides food and refreshments to the fire department when it is involved in long calls of any kind.

We are always looking for new members who would like to donate a little time. Anyone can become a member.

The Indian Creek Fire Department Auxiliary monthly meeting is held on the second Sunday of each month at 12:00 noon. Please come out and join us and bring your ideas for fundraising and community events.
